TitleWhat is a Driving Score?URL NameWhat-is-a-Driving-ScoreAnswerYour driving score is a tool designed to promote road safety and give you transparent feedback on your trips. It helps you stay aware of your driving habits, ensures compliance with our safety policies, and helps keep insurance costs low so we can pass those savings on to our community. How Your Score is Calculated Your score is a rolling reflection of your driving style across your most recent trips. It is generated using an algorithm that analyzes vehicle data based on the following criteria:Speeding Events: Tracked whenever you exceed the posted speed limit for the road you are on. We use precise map data to identify limits, so please keep an eye on your speedometer. Having multiple speeding incidents during a single trip is the quickest way to lower your score.Driving Smoothness: The system looks at the frequency and severity of sudden events like sharp turns or abrupt braking. Eligible Trips Not every trip or driving event is included in the driving behavior score. Whether a trip or driving event is included may depend on the city, the vehicle, the technical configuration, the scoring rules enabled at the time of the rental and, where relevant, recent driving behavior indicators associated with your account.Location: The feature is currently enabled, or used for scoring more frequently, in selected cities such as Amsterdam, Rome, Turin and Milan. This list may change over time.Trip selection: The score may be calculated based on a subset of trips or driving events that meet the predefined scoring criteria, including recent events, rather than every single trip. Score Changes & Delays Improving Your Score: The best way to raise your score is by practicing safe, smooth driving habits on every trip—maintaining steady speeds, following local traffic laws, and avoiding harsh maneuvers. Consistent, high-scoring trips will improve your standing and clear any existing warnings from your account. How Long Events Affect You: Because your score is a rolling reflection of recent habits, a single bad trip will only temporarily lower it. Consistent safe driving over time will bring it back up; we do not hold one bad trip against you indefinitely.Processing Delays: We begin processing data as soon as your rental ends. While this usually takes only a few minutes, slight delays can occur while our system ensures all data from the vehicle is accurately synced and verified before your final score is displayed. "High Risk" Consequences A "High Risk" score is an official warning that your driving behavior has put you and others at risk. Repeated reports of unsafe driving may result in additional fees or the permanent suspension of your account. Data Usage & Privacy We take your privacy seriously. Your driving data is encrypted, stored securely, processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and never sold to third parties. It is used exclusively to: Calculate your safety score to provide feedback and encourage safer habits.Improve service reliability by better understanding vehicle usage.Ensure compliance with our safety terms and insurance requirements.
